Our primary research focuses on the critical period of inner ear development prior to cochlear functioning and its influences on mature auditory processing in the healthy and diseased organ. Of particular interest are differential central auditory responsiveness to auditory deprivation post acoustic trauma.
We specialized in this context on defining functional and molecular biomarkers for age-dependent hearing loss, tinnitus and hyperacusis using ABR responses, electrophysiological approaches, field potential measurements, behavior animal models, transgenic mice techniques.
